Annualised Hours Duty Event Manager
This is an annualised hours contract of 1040 hours per year, which is an average of 20 hours per week. Expect more hours in busier months and less to none in shut down periods during January and August.
We are seeking a talented event professional to work as Duty Event Manager for Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival. For this role you will need to be an enthusiastic and positive person to manage events across our three venues and possibly wider afield during the Brighton Festival each May. You will use your experience of Duty Managing or Supervising live events to become a key part of the Visitor Services team. You will manage events of all genres across our venues and support the Welcome Area and heritage tours. You will be able to quickly pick up new technology to use our in-house systems and will be a whizz with the Microsoft Office suite. You will have experience of managing or supervising a team of staff and volunteers and have excellent customer service skills. A passion for accessibility, inclusion, environmental sustainability and customer service will be needed as well as an ability to think on your feet and remain calm under pressure. Knowledge and experience in risk assessment, emergency procedures, counter terrorism, and safeguarding will be a benefit to applicants. You will have an opportunity to support the department in various ways, growing your skills and experience in a busy, dynamic environment as part of a supportive team.
This role will include regular evening and weekend work, and a flexible approach is essential. This role is part-time and, whilst it provides a regular guaranteed income, the right applicant will need to be ensure that any other work they have will work around this contract.
